New MacBook Pros & iMacs to Launch in Mid-July with OS X Mountain Lion?

MacTrast is reporting that new MacBook Pros, iMacs, and OS X Mountain Lion are going to launch in mid-to-late July. Their source is apparently someone in Apple’s supply chain.

We’ve just received word from a source within Apple’s supply chain that Apple is preparing to launch a trifecta of new products late this summer, with new MacBook Pros and iMacs, as well as OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion all planned for a mid-to-late July launch.

This claim does not seem too inaccurate, as Apple already announced OS X Mountain Lion will be available in late summer. It would make sense for them to release new Macs along with it, like previous years.

Video of Minecraft for Xbox 360

As mentionted in yesterday’s post, Minecraft for Xbox is launching on May 9th. Reviewers have been getting early access codes to get their hands on the game a few days early.

TechnoBuffalo has exclusive coverage in a very well made video below. The game will retail for $20 or 1600 Microsoft points.

Minecraft Launches on Xbox May 9th

The much anticipated Minecraft for Xbox will be launching on May 9th. The download will be available through Xbox Arcade and will cost $20 (or 1600 Microsoft points).

The only downfall to the Xbox version, as of now, is that you will not be able to play on servers from it. I’m sure Mojang will add this support in future updates of the game.

For reviewers of the game, an embargo gets lifted tomorrow. Starting May 7th, reviewers are officially aloud to post videos to YouTube of gameplay, so of course we will have some.

Check back tomorrow for official Minecraft for Xbox gameplay.

Apple Wants iPhone5.com Domain Name

Fusible [via MacRumors] is reporting that Apple has filed a complaint to gain control of the domain name iPhone5.com.

Apple is planning ahead for the release of the fifth generation iPhone by filing a complaint (Case number: D2012-0951) with the World Intellectual Property Organization over iPhone5.com.  The domain dispute popped up on WIPO’s website this week.

The website right now is a forum just for discussing the next iPhone. It was set up back when the iPhone 4 was released.

Apple usually doesn’t go after domain names until they release the actual device. It’s a bit odd that Apple would want a domain name this early, especially with rumors of an October launch.

Take Note Apple: This is How Editing Text on the iPad Should be Done

A few days ago, iDownloadBlog posted a YouTube video of a slick new iOS concept that Apple could definitely add to iOS.

There can be a few steps to editing text on the iPad, and it really does not take advantage of the big screen. What if instead of tapping edit, paste, copy, etc, you simply swiped the keyboard. That’s exactly what it does, and it does the job well.

Take note, Apple.
